Workspace Health Check · Security & Configuration Audit

You Set Up Google Workspace. But Is It Actually Set Up Correctly?

A complete audit of your Workspace — admin console, DNS, email authentication, security settings, users, licences, and Shared Drive permissions — delivered as a plain-English written report within 48 hours, with a debrief call included.

✓ Written report within 48 hours · ✓ 30-minute debrief call included · ✓ Flat fee — no surprises

This is for you if you’re making a decision that needs real evidence, not a guess.

  • You’re growing and adding users soon — you want the foundation checked before it’s harder to fix
  • You inherited this setup — from a previous employee, a different freelancer, or a reseller — and have no idea if it was done properly
  • Someone recently left the company — and you want documented proof their access was fully removed, not just an assumption
  • You’re paying for a number of licences and want a clear answer on whether they’re all genuinely needed
  • Your accountant, insurer, or a client asked about your data security — and you want something more solid than “I think it’s fine”
  • You’re deciding whether to commit to ongoing admin support — and want a clear picture of your starting point first

Why this is worth paying for, not just a free call.

A free call is a conversation about a problem you already know about. This audit is different — it’s a systematic review of everything, including the things you don’t know to ask about. Most businesses I audit have at least one significant gap they had no idea existed: an ex-employee with lingering access, a DMARC record quietly doing nothing, licences nobody’s used in months. You don’t find those by describing a symptom on a call. You find them by someone actually going through every setting.

Most self-configured Workspaces have at least one significant gap. Usually more.

After 200+ Workspace projects, the patterns are consistent. DMARC set to monitor mode and never updated — so it’s logging failures but doing nothing about them. SPF records that exist but fail on certain mail servers because of too many DNS lookups. Former employee accounts left active with full access to Drive, email, and shared files. Licences being paid for accounts nobody uses. Shared Drives still accessible to people who left the company two years ago.

None of this is obvious from the outside. Your email appears to be working. Your team logs in every morning. Everything seems fine. This audit is how you find out whether it actually is — with a documented, prioritised report instead of a vague worry.

WHAT I AUDIT

Six areas. Every one checked.

DNS and Email Authentication

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC — not just whether they exist, but whether they are correctly configured, properly aligned with your sending domains, and actually working as intended. Blacklist status check included.

Admin Console Configuration

Security settings, 2-step verification enforcement, session controls, admin role assignments, and third-party app access. I check for common misconfigurations that leave accounts exposed without anyone knowing.

User and Licence Hygiene

Every user account reviewed — active, suspended, and anything in between. Licence usage assessed against actual need. Alias and group structure reviewed for efficiency and unnecessary cost.

Shared Drive and File Permissions

Who has access to what — and whether that access is appropriate. Former employee access, over-permissioned folders, and externally shared files are all flagged and reported.

Email Setup and Routing

MX records, routing rules, catch-all settings, and any custom email routing reviewed for correctness, security, and potential delivery issues.

Workspace Feature Usage

A brief review of whether your team is using Workspace efficiently — or whether tools already included in your plan could save you time, reduce manual work, or eliminate the need for additional licences.

WHAT YOU GET

A report you can actually read — and a call to walk through it together.

Written report — within 48 hours

A plain-English document covering every area audited. What is working correctly, what needs attention, and what to prioritise first. Written for a business owner, not an IT administrator. No jargon — every finding explained in plain terms.

Priority classification on every finding

Every issue in the report is labelled Critical, Important, or Advisory — so you know what to fix immediately, what to plan for, and what to simply keep an eye on. No vague recommendations, no open-ended to-do list.

30-minute debrief call — included

We go through the report together. You ask questions, I explain anything that needs more context, and we discuss next steps. You leave the call knowing exactly what your Workspace situation looks like and what to do about it.

Pricing

One flat fee. No hourly billing. No surprises.

If the audit finds issues worth fixing: I quote separately for the remediation work — at a fair, fixed price. The health check fee is deducted from your first month if you move to ongoing admin within 30 days of the audit.

If the audit finds nothing critical: You get documented peace of mind — a clear record of your configuration you can refer back to, share with a future IT consultant, or use as a baseline as your team grows.

Either way, you’re better informed than before.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01. How long does the audit take?

I complete the audit and deliver the written report within 48 hours of receiving access. The debrief call is scheduled at a time that suits you after the report is delivered.

02. What access do you need to carry out the audit?

Read-only access to your Google Workspace admin console. DNS records are publicly visible, so I can check those without any login. I do not need — and will not ask for — super admin access or access to individual user mailboxes.

03. What if the report finds nothing wrong?

That is a good outcome. You have a documented baseline of your Workspace configuration to refer back to — useful when onboarding new staff, working with future IT consultants, or simply having peace of mind that the setup is solid.

04. Will you try to sell me additional services at the end?

I will tell you what the report found and what I would recommend doing about it. If there is work that makes sense, I will quote for it at a fair price. You decide whether to proceed — there is no pressure, and the health check is a complete service on its own.

05. We set up Workspace three years ago and have not changed anything. Is it still worth checking?

Almost certainly yes. Google Workspace’s security recommendations, DMARC requirements, and admin console features have changed significantly over three years. A configuration that was correct in 2022 may have gaps today that are worth finding before they cause a problem.

06. Can I move to ongoing admin support after the health check?

Yes — and this is a common path. The health check gives both of us a clear picture of your setup before committing to a monthly arrangement. If you move to an ongoing plan within 30 days of the audit, the health check fee is deducted from your first month.
